Ms. Pihos, who splits her time between the Chicago office and Los Angeles, California, joined the firm in 2008 after serving as a law clerk to a federal district court judge and federal appellate judge, and is a partner specializing in complex civil litigation, primarily representing plaintiffs. Her practice consists of representing clients in a wide variety of litigation matters, including cases brought under the Federal False Claims Act, state False Claims Acts, consumer protection laws, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and various constitutional provisions. Her practice also includes representing clients before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Illinois Department of Human Rights, and consulting with non-profit corporations on a wide range of employment matters and other legal issues that arise during the course of their business.

False Claims Act/consumer protection law
Ms. Pihos serves as a Special Assistant Deputy Attorney General to a number of states suing dozens of pharmaceutical companies for pricing practices that allegedly violate state False Claims Acts and consumer protection laws. She has participated in all aspects of these cases, from discovery through trial, including successful oral arguments in various state courts. She has been a part of multiple trial teams that have secured multi-million dollar verdicts on behalf of the respective state Attorney General.
Ms. Pihos has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in employment disputes. She has also successfully represented multiple clients before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Illinois Department of Human Rights in cases involving claims of discrimination based on race, gender, disability, and age.
Consultation with nonprofit clients
Ms. Pihos consults with non-profit clients on a variety of legal issues that arise during the course of their business, ranging from creating policies for employee handbooks, advising on the discipline and termination of employees, drafting separation agreements, and advising on the application of various laws, including the Family and Medical Leave Act.
